Bite High Pigment Matte Pencil Swatches and Review

Another Bite product!  This time I am trying out the High Pigment Matte Pencil.  This is a lip pencil that gives a long lasting matte color.  I am loving all these lip pencils, so easy and portable for spring and summer.  This Bite product, like all contain resveratrol, an antioxidant.  Price is $24 USD.

The lip pencils come in 6 shades, and I am reviewing Bouquet (a peachy-pink) and Velvet (a vibrant rose pink).

I didn't realize the two colors would be the close in color to each other.  These is a definite peach tone to Bouquet compared to Velvet.  Bite products are sold online only, so it hard to tell exactly what color. (Thank you Sephora for your amazing return policy!)

The pencil glides on so smooth and stays on.  My lips never felt dry while wearing, but didn't feel sticky or greasy either!  The pencil tip is smaller, so it allows for a more precision application.  The color just twists up from the bottom - so no sharpener required.

The color is matte and the color of the pencil is pretty much the same color as it applied on my lips.  I think Bouquet looked better for my skin tone, as Velvet was a little too pink and has a blue base to it.  Bouquet is great for a light peachy lip.  This is a low-maintance lip color, so I recommend for spring and summer!  Another great product from Bite - just wish they would release more colors.

* This weekend only there is 20% off at Folica.com.  They sell my absolute favorite flat-iron - the Sedu Revolution.  Good until 4/11/11 *

Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara Review

I just can't help myself, I can't resist trying new mascaras. Like I said before, its an obsession! This past week I noticed the new Full Exposure Mascara from Smashbox ($19), and my curiosity got the best of me, so I ordered one to try out.

This new mascara is supposed to "create a 104% increase in lash volume for scene-stealing lashes at every angle without smudging, clumping, or flaking". Sounds great, right? Sadly, it is all too good to be true (no matter how much I wanted to believe it). The mascara comes in a sleek black tube, and the brush is enormous. Its actually so big, that its hard to apply the mascara and get just your lashes, it got everywhere. I found that this mascara did nothing for my lashes, they were neither fuller, nor darker(unless you count the clumps). It actually flaked onto my face within 5 minutes of application. Verdict: Smashbox has many great products, but this isn't one of them :(

Armani Eyes to Kill Intense Eyeshadows Swatches and Review

I finally caved and bought a few of the new-ish Armani Eyes to Kill Intense eyeshadows. These shadows are unlike anything you've ever tried before. They are said to give 24 hour wear that is crease proof, sweat proof, waterproof, and flake proof. They come in 13 beautiful, metallic shades, but cost $32, each.

I tried 4 different shades. #8 Champagne (shimmering champagne), #9 Rock Sand (a light, bronzy nude), #6 Khaki Pulse (golden khaki), #4 Pulp Fiction (multi-dimensional gunmetal grey). The texture is neither cream nor powder, it and has a "mousse-like" feel. I really like the amazing metallic sheen they provide, its a very easy way to achieve a sexy, smoky look. They did last all day, but with some flaking of the shimmer (my daughter thought I looked "like a sparkle fairy"). Not exactly the daytime look I was going for.

The first photo below is indoor, with flash.

Outdoor, sunlight, without flash.

Overall, I loved the colors and the ease of application, and the way they emphasized my eyes, but for the price, they could be better. I ended up keeping only #8, to use as a primer under my normal eyeshadows.
